What is Humanistic Counselling?
I am a counsellor specialising in humanistic counselling and registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (https://www.bacp.co.uk/therapists/408707/sally-hewetson/dorking-rh4). I have spent over 35 years in commercial property, raised a family with my husband and experienced a lifetime of facing my own challenges.
I offer my clients support and guidance, encouraging self-discovery and personal growth. Good mental health is vital for all of us, and spending committed time focussing on what is negatively impacting our lives can make a positive difference.
During counselling you spend time, giving yourself the space and environment to self-care. Together we can explore whatever issues are holding you back in life or making you unhappy. Working with me you will be heard, accepted, valued and understood.
Counselling can help you to understand your life-story, challenges, feelings and thoughts, as together we embark on your journey of personal growth.

Counselling gives you a space to connect with yourself and understand the best way forward...
How do we start?
Our first session is an assessment so that we can establish if it feels "right", and we can work together. This allows us to understand your challenges and goals, and whether I have the skills to help. I will signpost you to other services if we agree you need alternative support. This session may take over an hour and it is free of charge.
What is the Cost?
The cost of a session is £45, but I am aware that this can be prohibitive for some people, so I do consider concessionary terms for individual clients who find this difficult.
Please WhatsApp, email or call me if you have any questions or wish to start counselling.
Then what?
My clients usually have weekly sessions but this can be less frequent if you prefer. We typically meet online using Microsoft Teams; however, I am happy to do telephone or face to face counselling in my practice room close to Dorking. I try to accommodate times that works for busy lifestyles, and sessions are often early evenings and afternoons, with each session lasting 50 minutes.
